Private (Virtual) Culinary Events at Miette
Socializing at a distance can be fun with a shared activity to bring the group together. If you are looking for a virtual team building or family event, Miette will host your gathering with a 90 minute live demo. Our virtual events are relaxed but well-structured, and are a memorable way to foster a sense of shared experience. Chef Paul Vandewoude will walk your guests through a menu that you’ve chosen, while Chef Ivan Beacco will answer questions in real time. The live demos are run from our kitchen in Little Italy, which may already be familiar to your friends, colleagues, and clients.
A one and a half hour event is $600 for up to 14 people. 15 people to 50 people is $800.
How the events work:
You’ll select a menu that you think will appeal to your guests. We’ll send you a list of recipes and ingredients to have on hand, along with a Zoom link for the event that you can email to your guests. We’ll meet in the kitchen at the appointed time, and create a great meal together. Below are some menu options you can choose from, or you can create your own menu with some input from the chef.

Knife Skills: Fundamentals
You’ll learn to cut all the vegetables you’ll need to make a delicious Provençal vegetable soup, and how to safely handle and cut a chicken to make roasted chicken
Butternut squash risotto
Baby kale salad with a vinaigrette dressing

Feta crostini with tomatos, chickpeas, and onions

When life returns to normal, we will be hosting large gatherings again in our lovely space!
Located in the heart of Little Italy, our Mulberry Street space is an 1800 sq. ft loft, with exposed brick walls, open chef’s kitchen, rustic wood tables, two bathrooms, and a landscaped outdoor terrace. Cooking parties and corporate events with up to 20 people, seated, can be accommodated here. We have hosted memorable engagement parties, birthdays, anniversaries, holiday gatherings, business meetings, and even a few wedding proposals (the ring was hidden in the soufflé).
Cooking Parties are organized in consultation with the chef, who can create a menu to your specifications and in keeping with the kind of event you would like to have. People with all levels of cooking experience enjoy a hands-on cooking party: the more practiced home chef picks up new ideas while the beginner gains confidence. Participants expand skills and knowledge in the kitchen as they socialize and work together in groups to create a memorable lunch or dinner. It’s a festive way to engage your guests, and it’s fun!
Teambuilding and Corporate Events provide a venue for colleagues to communicate, collaborate, and create a meal together. A menu is customized with the chef, and time can be set aside to include a talk or audio-visual presentation.
Catered Events allow your guests to relax and enjoy a professionally prepared menu that you have decided on in consultation with one of our chefs, or with a chef that you bring in yourselves.
Cocktail Parties: push the tables aside, open the terrace door, and invite your guests for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Bring your own wines and liquor, we will hire a bartender and serving staff.
Food & Wine Pairing Parties
Food & Wine Pairing Parties give the opportunity for your guests to learn how to choose wines that work well with the foods they love. All food and wine pairing events are hands-on, so you and your guests will prepare a meal together. A certified sommelier is on hand to discuss the grapes, wine growing regions, and characteristics of the wines, and why they resonate with the food you have prepared.
